The Family Productive Organization for Capacity Building has launched a seed distribution initiative for displaced persons in camps as an appreciation for their efforts, a testament to their determination, and to provide them with assistance.
The seed distribution initiative for displaced persons aims to improve living conditions in the camps during the autumn season by cultivating essential vegetables, which we have named ‘the sailor’s basket.’ Through this initiative, we aim to achieve self-sufficiency for the displaced and encourage them to engage in agriculture.
The initiative kicked off in Kassala city at the Bassel camp for displaced persons, where we cultivated 4 acres with various crops, including onions, okra, mallow, and eggplant. The initiative has been widely welcomed by the displaced persons, who have contributed significantly to its success.
